Ruby

For managing Ruby versions, we’ve already installed the rbenv package above.

ruby-build is often available as a package, too, but the packaged version often doesn’t support the most recent Ruby versions yet. We’ll install it from Github instead.

The rbenv-default-gems plugin automatically installs my favourite gems (a list included in my dotfiles repository) with every new Ruby version.

git clone https://github.com/rbenv/ruby-build.git "$(rbenv root)"/plugins/ruby-build

git clone https://github.com/rbenv/rbenv-default-gems.git $(rbenv root)/plugins/rbenv-default-gems

version="3.1.3" && rbenv install "$version" && rbenv shell "$version"
